Hung out at library today, I love going there but never seem to find the time. Though the quietness is a little eerie.

More from the past...

Found a couple of old lanterns in my travels today. Glad they are the past, I wouldn't like to be using these for lighting.

The Alexandra Railway Bridge....

which  crosses the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton was built in 1898. And took 2 years to complete. This was the only connection from the north to the south of Rockhampton. And is still being used today for all freight coming from the north of Rockhampton.

everywhere are signs.  But whatever did we do before google. Thats right , we had books called encyclopaedia's that normally took pride of place in the lounge rooms.

Pretty content...

she looks very content, plenty of food, but not really hungry.  Plenty of water, but not really thirsty. And a portable toy, that she'll just cart around until I she finds someone that might just want to have a play with her. It's a dogs life...

Just a glimpse...

Built in 1899, this old sandstone church was a place you could just walk into, but now it's securely locked.  Even the huge stained glass windows have been covered with a security grill so they can't be vandalised.  But I got a glimpe of these beautiful pieces of work through this air vent. So pretty...

stranger...

this stranger caught my attention in the crowd. I even felt a little creepy taking this shot. He frightened me.

there is so much beauty all around us we just forget to appreciate it, or we don't REALLY look hard enough,   in this busy life that we lead.

 Maybe its not until you do a photo a day that you begin to notice a lot more things you perhaps took for granted before.

cleaning & housework...

is a normal day to day job, but the OVEN.  Who ever really wants to clean the oven.... and this disgraceful one is mine. I sprayed it, closed the door and came back in 12 hours. Thought I'd even share it on the blog.

I noticed  this morning on my way into work.  Sara recently became single again.  Everyone looks happy enough.  Even the cat looks pretty content.

my newest addiction...

is art jounaling and mixed media collage, and I am having a ball with it.  This is the cover I created for my first art journal. SO much fun.

Lovin the garden...

after the long winter ,it is so good to spent time outside. Why does winter always seem to go so much slower than summer?

the wind definitely got the better of this message, with a plane giving his best shot to try and spell a "Happy Birthday" in the heavens. So romantic...

Poor little Marley is one super active little boy. And this cast cannot even slow him down. I think he has A.D.D. in doggie world.

Went for a drive to Taroom today and got this random shot of someones ART in a paddock. Just look what you can do with a bail of hay!!!!!!!!!

is everywhere . This is in the Valley, Brisbane  But imagine life without colour. Couldn't imagine that at all.  I need lots of colour in my life.

Too Precious...

Found this adorable card that my 10 year old daughter gave to me on my 30th birthday.  Just TOO precious.  Memories are forever in my heart.  If only you could go back there . I wouldn't hesitate for a moment.  A message so sincere... and might I add my daughter is now 31.

Sometimes I feel like a never ending play machine. I just can't keep up enough play up to her.

My Babuska Dolls...

have finally arrived today, I have been impatiently waiting for these to arrive from Russia. And couldn't be happier with my internet purchase. No "Made In China" here.

Carrot rouge

This very old makeup tin was given to me today and belonged to my great great grandmother. So the age would be around 120 years old. What a jewel.  Thanks Mum I love it. And so it goes on to another generation.

not already. My first sighting of christmas paper in the shops by the 3rd of September. This is a joke.

stars and stripes or the star speckled banner is so popular at the moment, its in the mags, homeware and everywhere in fashion. Love these littles numbers I found in the shops.
